Around 200 top managers met at the "Hosting & Service Provider Summit" in Frankfurt on May 23 and 24. Under the motto "Host. Provide. Futurize.", the participants from the cloud and managed services industry discussed how they can shape business models for the future and position themselves successfully alongside hyperscalers.
Keynotes on the topics of edge computing, multi-cloud partnerships, GDPR and customer insights from an automotive manufacturer and the Swiss Post provided special insights into how the service provider landscape will change in the future in terms of requirements and areas of application.
Participants also benefited from the knowledge transfer from the reference reports and think tanks. In particular, the new format "Under Pressure - the crisis as an opportunity" generated enthusiasm: Dr. Béla Waldhauser (Telehouse), Paul Martin (vertical) and Timo Mankartz (dogado) reported on their most difficult challenges. In addition, the accompanying exhibition with 22 top providers invited visitors to one-on-one meetings for an intensive exchange of experiences and opinions.
The highlight of the summit was the presentation of the "Hosting & Service Provider Awards 2019". The winners were determined in a large reader survey in cooperation with the IT portals of Vogel IT-Medien:
