After almost 20 years as editor-in-chief within the Süddeutscher Verlag publishing house for titles such as W&V, Kontakter and Lead, Dr. Jochen Kalka is moving to the management of the agency schoesslers, which is majority-owned by the Vogel Communications Group.
Berlin, August 20, 2019 - Dr. Jochen Kalka will join the Berlin-based communications agency schoesslers as a member of the management board on September 1, 2019. This expands the management team, which previously consisted of agency founder and Managing Partner Prof. Dr. Julia Schössler and Chief Operating Officer Tim Brandt, into a management trio.
Jochen Kalka comes from Süddeutscher Verlag, where he was editor-in-chief of the trade magazine "W&V - Werben und Verkaufen". He also wrote for the Süddeutsche Zeitung for 25 years, authored several specialist books and acted as editor, including together with Sascha Lobo. He also published the book "Winnenden" about the shooting rampage in his home town and most recently "Die Startup-Lüge" in 2019 with Econ Verlag.
"schoesslers is not just a communications agency, but offers its clients comprehensive advice and individual solutions," says Jochen Kalka, who knows the agency scene better than almost anyone else. "schoesslers is not only one of the fastest growing agencies in Germany, but also enjoys an excellent reputation for the quality of its services and its broad network. The focus on the digital economy and technology has more than proven itself in recent years. After more than 20 years at W&V, I know what makes agencies tick. And that's why I believe I'm a perfect fit for the 50-strong team, which looks after more than 60 clients with innovative ideas."
The communications agency schoesslers has recently continued its strong growth trajectory. Its clients include Dentsu Aegis Network, RMS, Spotify, MyHammer, MINDSPACE, MediaMath and many more. With Jochen Kalka, the expansion of the company as one of the leading communications agencies in the digital economy is to be further advanced.
"We are delighted that we have been able to recruit Jochen," says Julia Schössler. "He will be an excellent addition to our network and his expertise will also complement us perfectly. Our customers have high expectations in an increasingly complex, technology-driven environment, and they value our strategic consulting expertise. Jochen's experience will make a significant contribution to continuing to provide our clients with excellent support in communications."
Matthias Bauer, CEO of majority shareholder Vogel Communications Group, is also looking forward to strengthening the management team at schoesslers: "With our broad-based group of companies, we offer our customers comprehensive expertise in all aspects of B2B communication. With Jochen Kalka, we are gaining an outstanding expert on the agency scene who will further accelerate our growth course as part of the "Vogel 2022" strategy. As part of the Vogel Management Board, his inspiring personality will provide numerous effective impulses, which I am very much looking forward to."
