The popular cultural festival in the Zellerau district will once again offer music, theater, art, design and readings from October 11 to 13, 2019. As every year, admission to the events is free of charge.
On Friday, 11.10.2019, the three-day festival begins with an opening evening in the newly opened Marie-Juchacz-Haus of the AWO in Jägerstraße. The new Head of the Cultural Office, Kathrin Jacobs, will kick off the Culture Days at 6:30 pm with a welcoming address.
Saturday, October 12, is packed with a wide variety of cultural events and activities. The focus of the program is once again on the Zellerauer Marktplätzle in Frankfurter Straße. The Fraunhofer Institute is also represented with a reading and the Würzburg State Fire Brigade School opens its doors for a guided tour with city councillor Willi Dürrnagel.
In the evening program, the "Mann mit Melone & Friend" will once again delight with blues in the Waschhaus. In addition, Zellerau musician and songwriter Nilz Hübenbecker will present his new program "Liebe ohne Pfand" (Love without a pledge) - in purist unplugged style to match the atmosphere of the launderette. His songs are about flower children, the strange problems of affluence in today's world, narcissistic-altruistic orbit dancers and much more.
Sunday is all about the Bürgerbräu grounds, where the day of action will take place with a colorful all-day cultural program. One of the highlights is the "Artbrew" design market in the covered Höfer Hof.
"These are three days packed full of culture in Würzburg's cultural quarter. Once again, we have many genres and genres on offer: from readings, exhibitions and a design market to stage shows, concerts and films - and everything is free to enjoy. If you don't stop by, it's your own fault," says co-organizer Dr. Gunther Schunk.
Thanks to the participation of many supporters, admission to all events is also free of charge for the 21st anniversary. The Zellerau Culture Days are an important part of the Würzburg event year and an initiative that makes the cultural and creative attractiveness of the district tangible for all visitors.
The event is supported by: City of Würzburg, Stadtbau GmbH, Vogel Communications Group, Sparkasse Mainfranken Würzburg, Würzburger Hofbräu, IHK Unterfranken
