On November 4 and 5, 2020, "Spotlightmetal", a cooperation project of NürnbergMesse and the Vogel Communications Group, is organizing the Foundry Industry Forum event in Würzburg for the first time. The aim of the event is to give the industry "impetus out of the crisis".
The coronavirus crisis has not only turned society upside down, but also Germany as an industrial location. The automotive industry and the mechanical/plant engineering sector are currently facing massive challenges, which are also having a direct impact on the foundry industry.
- How can the industry deal with the challenges?
- What strategic approaches and solutions for innovation are there?
- What opportunities are arising from the crisis?
The Foundry Industry Forum deals with these and many other questions and also offers space for an exchange within the industry, with experts providing detailed insights and showing ways out of the crisis.
Franz-Josef Wöstmann (Head of the Technology Forecasting and Utilization Department, Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Applied Materials Research) is the technical director of the Foundry Industry Forum. The content concept is being developed in cooperation with Anne Bieler-Brockmann (freelance consultant). EUROGUSS, the international trade fair for die casting, and the Fraunhofer IFAM are supporting the project as partners.
