Around 100 top managers met at the "Service Provider Summit" in Frankfurt on August 27 and 28 - naturally in accordance with the current security requirements. Under the motto "THE NEXT LEVEL OF SERVICE PROVIDING.", the participants from the cloud and managed services industry discussed how to make their business models secure and sustainable. The focus was particularly on how they are accompanying their customers on the path to the future with DevOps and agile IT and cooperating with hyperscalers.
Keynotes on the edge, cloud-native and Kubernetes as well as cyber threats and security services provided insights into how the requirements of service providers are changing more and more.
The think tanks, roundtables and the "Under pressure - the crisis as an opportunity" format were particularly popular with participants. Here, Patrick Menne (ITgration) and Daniel Hagemeier (Dogado) reported on their most difficult challenges. During the panel discussion, managing directors Klaus Bürg (amazon Web Services) and Thorsten Herrmann (Microsoft) answered Daniel Hagemeier's questions on how they are redefining cloud partnerships as hyperscalers. In addition, the accompanying exhibition with 18 top providers invited participants to one-on-one meetings for an intensive exchange of experiences and opinions.
The highlight of the summit was the presentation of the "Service Provider Awards 2020". The winners were determined in a large reader survey in cooperation with the IT portals of Vogel IT-Medien.
