The corona pandemic is making live events impossible, especially with older population groups. For this reason, the organizers of the Würzburg Dementia Days have decided to forego dementia days with face-to-face events this year. Instead, the University Hospital of Würzburg and the Vogel Foundation Dr. Eckernkamp will use digitalization techniques and present current topics in two webinars - seminars via the Internet - that are very important when working with older people, especially during this time.
Top-class speakers have been brought in for this purpose. The webinars are free of charge and can be used with regular computers.
On Monday, October 12, from 14:00 to 16:30, the topic "The Covid 19 pandemic - significance for older people" is on the program:
- Prof. Ulrich Vogel talks about the development of the Covid 19 pandemic and effective prevention measures.
- Prof. Patrick Meybohm reports on the treatment of Covid 19 patients.
- Prof. Grit Hein and Marte Sc. Gründahl will talk about the pandemic and what social distancing is doing to us all, all with a focus on what it means for older people.
On Friday, October 16 at 10:00 a.m., Dr. Martin Lauer and Dr. Thomas Polak from the Center for Mental Health will talk about dementia prevention.
