On November 26, 2020, the Women's IT Network, together with Vogel IT-Medien, honored the power women in IT in a total of eight categories. The initiative stands for "Female Driven Business": for more women who help shape and mold the IT industry, for more diversity and, above all, for more visibility. Both for female managers from different disciplines and management levels as well as for female founders and young talents.
In a large readers' poll, more than 15,000 votes were cast to determine the candidates in the silver, gold and platinum categories. As part of the online event "FIT & WIN-Awards goes virtual", the winners opened their packages, which had been sent to them in advance and were still sealed, live on camera with over 200 viewers.
The Platinum Awards and thus the "IT WOMEN OF THE YEAR" were presented in the following categories:
"Start Up": Nora Blum, selfapy
"Young Leader": Linda Schneider, Computacenter
"Outstanding Diversity Commitment": Dr. Julia Freudenberg, Hacker School" Digital Transformation": Judith Gerlach, Bavarian State Ministry for Digital Julia Freudenberg, Hacker School
"Digital Transformation": Judith Gerlach, Bavarian State Ministry for Digital Affairs
"Business Innovation": Kim Dressendörfer, IBM
"Technical Innovation": Nina Fischer, IBM

The founders of the Women's IT Network, Daniela Schilling (Director, Vogel IT-Akademie) and Eva Kanzler (Team Leader, Vogel IT-Akademie) hosted the online event. In addition to the award ceremony, the program also included a virtual panel discussion on the topic of "Love IT, Change IT or Leave IT: How we will shape our working and living environment in the future". At the discussion panel, which was chaired by Nicole Dufft (fibonacci & friends), Carolin de Lorenzi (Computacenter), Kim Dressendörfer (IBM), Dr. Julia Freudenberg (Hacker School), Christine Schöneweis (SAP) and Dr. Anke Sax (Digital Leader) discussed the following questions, among others: What will we take away from the crisis? Many are currently working from home - but how well is virtual leadership working? How important are "purpose" and a common goal that drives us now?
Judith Gerlach, the Bavarian Minister of State for Digital Affairs, then addressed the participants, emphasizing the importance of women in the IT industry. The perfect introduction to the virtual presentation of the WIN Awards 2020.
Next year's FIT Congress with personal exchange and discussions on site will take place on June 24, 2021 at the Villa Kennedy in Frankfurt.
