The ADAC wants to work closely with car dealers in the future. This is reported by the industry magazine "kfz-betrieb" in its latest issue no. 48, which will be published on November 30. One new option is the ADAC's 24-hour service line (www.24h-serviceline.de). The car dealer can switch his telephone to the ADAC Service GmbH call center after closing time. An ADAC employee answers with the name of the dealership, records the customer's query, logs it and forwards it to the dealership by e-mail. This gives the customer the feeling that they are always in direct contact with their dealership. Customers mainly ask the 24-hour service line about dealership promotions, workshop services or they want information about buying a car.
According to the ADAC, customers are now increasingly contacting the dealership after accidents. The 24-hour service line provides them with competent assistance, towing services or replacement mobility even outside of business hours - but above all, it ensures that the vehicle is taken to the dealer in charge.
Currently, 150 car dealerships, primarily Porsche and Saab dealerships, are working with the ADAC's 24-hour service line. Kersting is aiming for 1000 dealership partners by the end of 2007. The costs for this ADAC service are manageable. The car dealerships only pay the telephone charges for the customer calls actually made (1.55 euros per minute plus VAT). There are no monthly flat rates or separate connection fees. The only condition for participation is that the partner business must enter all important information about its dealership on the ADAC website and keep it up to date. This includes details of opening hours, names of employees and their responsibilities.
