Würzburg, April 12, 2006
"We will make clear offers for our customers, because we know that Volkswagen still has huge service potential in Germany," promises Dietmar Hildebrandt, the new Head of Service at Volkswagen, in an interview with the industry magazine "kfz-betrieb": "Too many customers who buy a second-hand vehicle are still leaving. After about five years, they drop out of our market support."
In his latest issue No. 15, which will be published on April 13, 2006, Hildebrandt also addresses the stronger networking between sales and service, both at the manufacturer and in the dealerships. It is also important for Hildebrand to continue to offer affordable service in the future: "We want to use a clear service image campaign to make it clearer that, in contrast to complex work with well-trained service technicians, simple wear and tear repairs are also available at a reasonable price."
The new head of service is not afraid of ATU & Co.: "The growth of fast-fit organizations will slow down. This is also because many customers have now realized that there is a wide margin between the tempting offer and the price paid." For Hildebrandt, one thing is certain: the manufacturer's service organizations will not only hold their own until 2010, but will also make further gains.
"kfz-betrieb" is a trade magazine published by Vogel Auto Medien, Würzburg. The most widely read trade magazine in the automotive industry celebrated its 95th anniversary in 2005 and is the official organ of the German Motor Trade (ZDK), the professional lobby for over 40,000 car dealerships and workshops.
