The most innovative ideas, products and services for the booming used car business - this is exactly what the industry magazine "Gebrauchtwagen Praxis" and its two partners, the law firm Bernsau Rieger Lautenbach and the software specialist Summit Auto Group, were looking for.
The winners of the "Used Car Business Innovation Award 2006" were announced on April 1, 2006. The jury honored three applications at the AMI Leipzig trade fair:
- "The CGP 6P used car strategy" by CGP Christof Gerhard, Olpe
Jury statement: "A convincing, very helpful and, in its entirety, innovative concept. What is particularly significant about it is that it also focuses on the quality of sales and not just the quantity. The product is very practical and basic."
- "Autoreale.de: the database of automotive values" by Autohandel Heyne, Hanau
Jury statement: "Very innovative online product because it works in a real and practical way. It is very helpful, functional and above all (compared to competitor products) not static. It is a very useful system and offers a good opportunity for real pricing for all dealers."
- "Dealer portal" from Seger Automobile, Würzburg
Jury statement: "This tool is a great help for small dealers in particular. This applies above all to Internet latecomers. The product can certainly be considered innovative in its expansion and impact."
This competition was announced for the first time and 49 applications were submitted by both large and small companies. The jury is made up of experts and retailers who assess the practicality and creativity of the innovations submitted. The focus is on sales, marketing, presentation and service.
It is clear from the entries submitted: The trend in the used car business is also moving towards the Internet and IT tools. Inventory management and process optimization are the focus of professionalizing the used car business. These suggestions are important, as the used car business has many facets. "Gebrauchtwagen Praxis" and the two sponsors thus support the development of this trade segment.
The winners and the best products will be made available to the market in a special publication of "Gebrauchtwagen Praxis".
