Vogel Business Media has moved into the next round of innovations: by launching its powderbulkchannel.com website, it has established its first ever paid content portal, which is made possible by the exclusive nature of the content provided therein. Powderbulkchannel.com covers the entire spectrum of powder and bulk solids handling. The site is entirely in English which underlines the further shift towards globalization of Vogel Business Media's publishing activities.
The new website is an online product of Vogel's two specialist magazines, "bulk solids handling" and "powder handling & processing", which are aimed at the international powder and bulk community. The handling of bulk solids is a significant part of the value-added chain which accounts for up to 35 percent of the entire production costs of some industries.
"An online subscription to this site gives users unlimited access to all the information it has to offer; our archive comprises the entire collection of articles which have been published in our two specialist magazines, "bulk solids handling" and "powder handling & processing" ever since their very first issues," is the way in which Reiner Grochowski, a Vogel TransTech publisher, describes the benefits of the internet website. Subscribers to the website thus have access to some 2,800 specialist articles relating to the bulk solids handling industry, all of which are available for downloading.
Powderbulkchannel.com adds an additional component to the portfolio of Vogel Transtech, forming a coequal pillar alongside Vogel TransTech's printing business and congress activities. At this year's Powtech trade fair, the target group at which the new website is aimed was already given an opportunity to see for themselves what a comprehensive range of features it has to offer. Reiner Grochowski comments on their reactions as follows: "Our readers were particularly impressed by the speed and ease with which the paid content site can provide them with all the articles we've ever published, going all the way back to 1981."
To accompany the launch of the website, the following new members of staff were recruited to join the existing Vogel Transtech team: Imke Ostermeier (26) as a reinforcement to the company's sales activities; Klaus-Michael Göhler (33) as a new member of the printed and online advertising sales staff.
