"Medizin Report" is the title of a new scientific information service publication in German launched by the IWW-Institut (Institute for Economics Sector Publishing in Germany) in April. The publication is especially geared towards medical practitioners and clinicians.
Information range
"Medizin Report" provides concise information on international scientific studies, congresses, etc. and picks out the key facts for doctors. Furthermore, experienced doctors give assessments of the new therapy approaches and practical tips on effective treatment methods.
Unlike the very many publications which depend on advertising, "Medizin Report" does not contain any adverts at all. "That is what makes it possible for us to also report on studies which are critical to the industry," explains Dr. Jürgen Böhm, Managing Director of IWW. "Medizin Report" thus also contains warnings and safety advice as to possible side-effects of drugs and medicines - making it a novelty compared to the publications on the market which are funded by advertising.
Every month, the report presents up to 35 original international reports in a compact form, of which approximately 20 are available as a full report on the internet. "Our service saves doctors valuable time in procuring the necessary reading material," says Jürgen Böhm. It takes just 30 minutes for subscribers to obtain all the information they need.
