"Due to the demographic development, it is of almost existential importance for the automotive industry in particular to train qualified junior staff through excellent training. This is because there is a threat of a shortage of skilled workers in a few years' time, while at the same time the automobile is becoming increasingly complex to repair and maintain," explained Ingo Meyer, ZDK Managing Director of the Vocational Training Department, at the congress. The new job description of the automotive mechatronics technician, for example, is proof of this.
Every two years, the trade magazines organize the competition together with the German Association of the Automotive Industry (ZDK). The prize is endowed with two prizes of 5,000 euros. Partners of the competition are the Nürnberger Insurance Group and Shell Germany. The patron is Prof. Dr. h.c. Reinhold Würth, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Würth Group's Family Trusts.
"kfz-betrieb" is a trade magazine published by Vogel Auto Medien, Würzburg. The most widely read trade magazine in the automotive industry celebrated its 95th anniversary in 2005 and is the official organ of the German Motor Trade (ZDK), the professional lobby for over 40,000 car dealerships and workshops.
