Three quarters of drivers favor the hybrid as an alternative drive. However, diesel vehicles with particulate filters, economical petrol engines and hydrogen engines with fuel cells are also high on the wish list of potential car buyers. Just over 40 percent of those surveyed already own a diesel vehicle with a particulate filter. Of these, one in six has already had their car retrofitted. Owners of eight to ten-year-old vehicles, drivers of German premium brands and older people are leading the way when it comes to retrofitting.
This was compiled by the industry magazine "kfz-betrieb" in the Trend-Tacho of its current issue no. 20.
56 percent of drivers of diesel vehicles without particulate filters want to have their cars retrofitted. The willingness to retrofit is particularly pronounced among drivers of French brands (78 percent) and owners of minis and small cars (70 percent). Half of those surveyed would spend more than 500 euros on a particulate filter. Those most willing to spend are city dwellers (77 percent), people over 60 (73 percent) and drivers who drive between 10,000 and 15,000 kilometers a year. Almost two thirds of those surveyed want to have the particulate filter installed in a garage with a contract.
