The German motor trade awards the best businesses for training junior staff

Two German businesses, based in Bochum and Idstein respectively, receive the Federal German Training Prize

Würzburg/Germany, 15 May 2007
The businesses offering the best training for the motor trade's junior staff in Germany have now been named for the year 2007. The winners of the Federal German Training Prize were presented with their awards at the German motor trade's 6th Federal German Job Training Congress in the German town of Bad Wildungen last Friday. The jury was particularly impressed by the winners' qualities in the fields of junior staff marketing and furtherance, training concepts and preparation for examinations, project work and individual support/supervision. This was the third time that the motor trade's Federal German Training Prize had been awarded by the German specialist magazine, "kfz-betrieb", and the German motor trade's training journals, "autoFACHMANN" and "autoKAUFMANN", in conjunction with the German vehicle trade association (ZDK).

The winners of the Federal German Training Prize 2007 in the two different categories of large businesses and small/medium-sized businesses are as follows:

2) Auto Schneider, Leipzig

3) Holz&Haller, Neu Ulm

4) Autohaus Schmidt, Lünen

5) Harald Beckl Karosserie und Lack, Langenselbold

6) Auto-Velte KG, Biedenkopf

7) Autohaus Renzenbrink GmbH, Bramsche

8) Autohaus Grötzinger GmbH, Öhringen

9) Altmann Reifen- und Autoservice, Hamburg

10) Autohaus Schlieben GmbH, Bremerhaven

"Given the current demographic trend it is of particular - and almost existential - importance to the motor trade that qualified junior members of staff are given outstanding training. Because there is the danger that in only a few years' time there will be a lack of qualified human resources, while at the same time, however, the repair and maintenance of cars is becoming increasingly complex," explained Ingo Meyer, Managing Director of ZDK (job training department) at the congress. Mr. Meyer pointed out the new profession of car mechantronics technician as one example to illustrate this fact.

The specialist magazines named above, in conjunction with ZDK, invite entries to the competition every two years. The winners of the first prize in the two categories are awarded € 5,000 each. The competition is sponsored by the insurance group, Nürnberger Versicherungsgruppe, and by Shell Germany, and is under the patronage of Professor Reinhold Würth, Chairman of the Foundation Supervisory Board of the Würth Group.

"kfz-betrieb" is published by Vogel Auto Media, Würzburg/Germany and is the most widely read specialist magazine in the German car trade, celebrating its 95th anniversary in 2005 and fulfilling the role of official publication of the German vehicle trade association (ZDK), which represents the interests of over 40,000 car dealer businesses and repair garages.
