Virtualization has become the key technology for dynamic IT infrastructure solutions and the driving force in IT. How can virtualization be used to create optimal IT infrastructures and reduce administration and energy costs at the same time? The thirst for information among users and IT decision-makers is greater than ever. This was also the case at the VMware customer event Symposia 2007, which reached its capacity limit with over 1,600 registrations. As a media partner of the event, SearchDataCenter.de was right in the middle of the action and informed the participants on site.
"We were also very pleased with the high level of interest and the high quality of the visitors," says Sonja Reindl-Hager, Regional Marketing Manager Central Europe. "This clearly shows how important the topic of virtualization is for companies. The cooperation with SearchDataCenter is therefore very important for us, as this platform provides customers with detailed and professional information about the opportunities and possibilities of virtualization."
VMware showcased solutions
VMware not only used the Customer Symposium to discuss current trends, developments and positions in the market, but also presented some of its new products. These included version 3 of its VMware Infrastructure, which enables small and large companies to optimize and manage their IT environments using virtualization. Another highlight was the Lab Manager, which enables companies to implement their development processes more cost-effectively and resource-efficiently in conjunction with virtualization.
SearchDataCenter experts in dialog with visitors
Visitors not only benefited from the numerous interesting presentations by VMware, but also gathered information at the SearchDataCenter.de stand. The experts were on hand to answer questions about virtualization and, of course, data centers and IT infrastructure.
"The direct exchange with visitors and readers is very important to us. We learned a lot from the IT decision-makers about the requirements for virtualization," says Achim B.C. Karpf, Editor-in-Chief of SearchDataCenter.de. "This enables us to optimally align the content of our topic portal and ensure that the important topics are addressed in the articles."
Deepening the partnership
The event was a first for VMware and SearchDataCenter.de in their collaboration. As a result, both parties agree that this will not be the last joint event. The media partnership will certainly bear fruit in other areas as well.
