The revised Mercedes-Benz A-Class and B-Class models celebrate their world premiere at the "Auto Mobil International" (AMI) trade fair in Leipzig.
The compact cars from Stuttgart are equipped with a belt-driven start/stop system, depending on the equipment. It is based on the system used in the Smart mhd and is more complex than the competitor systems used by BMW as part of "Efficient Dynamics", which work with a classic starter motor. The belt-driven start/stop system enables vibration-free starting of the engine.
Mercedes is also presenting a natural gas-powered variant of the B-Class under the designation B 170 NGT. There will also be a new telematics generation. Visually, however, the redesign of the A-Class and B-Class will be rather restrained.
The world premiere of the two Mercedes models is a success for the AMI, which is organized by the importers' association VDIK and takes place this year from April 5 to 13.
