Corporate Social Responsibility has had a rapid career. Today, no company with international aspirations can do without proven CSR activities. In addition, more and more brands are trying to differentiate themselves from the competition through CSR activities.
The terms climate protection, energy efficiency and sustainability are used to describe developments that have triggered a global rethinking process. With the corresponding consequences for companies - but also with specific demands on politicians.
The most important drivers on the capital side are forming and will reach concrete international agreements after the presidential election in the USA. In the industrialized countries, demands for "ecological thinking" are increasing at consumer level.
The 46th Würzburger WerbeFachgespräche 2008 (23./24.06.2008) will take up the developments surrounding the topic of " CSR and the implications for B2B communication", ask questions about national and international B2B relevance and show trends and examples from the markets.
Jörg Ihlau, who has been Managing Director of Serviceplan Public Opinion in Berlin since 2007, will report on the current state of the CSR debate in Germany and present his personal theses on the further development of the topic for discussion. His guiding thesis: two strands will develop: CSR for companies that want to defend their "license to operate" vis-à-vis the political public. And for brands, which will differentiate themselves from the competition through specific CSR. In view of the very different motivations of these strands, the term CSR will also soon fall apart.
Serviceplan Public Opinion is a new specialist agency for political and social communication within the Serviceplan Group.
