On Tuesday, June 3, the Würzburg publisher and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Vogel Media Group was awarded the title of Honorary Senator by the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt on the occasion of the establishment of an endowed professorship in "Specialized Journalism with a Focus on Technology". The professorship is very generously endowed and will be financed over a period of five years by the "Vogel Foundation Dr. Eckernkamp".
UAS President Professor Dr. Heribert Weber thanked Dr. Eckernkamp and his wife Nina Eckernkamp-Vogel for their support and commitment to the UAS: "This is our first endowed professorship. We are very proud!"
Following the award ceremony, the new endowed professor Dr. Lutz Frühbrodt gave his official inaugural lecture. In it, he commented on the content and formal aspects of the Master's degree program as well as the topic of "specialist journalistic quality" as a whole. For him, high-quality specialist media are "oases of competence and credibility for those with a professional thirst for knowledge".
