The Würzburg Automotive Summit 2008 began yesterday, Wednesday, with the theme "Mobility 2015: Focus on the customer". High-ranking speakers discussed health and wellness in the car, infotainment and navigation as well as CO² savings and lightweight construction with around 250 top managers from the automotive industry.
Mayor Georg Rosenthal welcomed the automotive experts to the Vogel Convention Center and Federal Minister of Economics Michael Glos then opened the two-day congress as patron with a video message. Key-note speaker Professor Dr. Burkhard Göschel (see photo) addressed energy and environmental potential and system networking for the automobile of the future.
The highlight this Thursday is the opening of an innovation vernissage at which the German winners of a competition will present their ideas for the automobile of the future.
The event is organized by the trade journal "Automobil Industrie" from Vogel Business Media and the Network of Automotive Excellence, an association of automobile manufacturers and suppliers. The Chancen-Region Mainfranken is also supporting the congress and hosted a dinner in the wine cellar of the Residenz on Wednesday evening.
"Automobil Industrie" is a monthly trade magazine published by Vogel Business Media, Würzburg, with a circulation of around 15,000 copies. "Automobil Industrie" is aimed at the managers of car manufacturers, suppliers, equipment suppliers and service providers. The trade magazine has been a must-read in the industry for over 50 years.
