Würzburg, August 12, 2008
Fast Internet connections for companies, public institutions and private individuals are a prerequisite for economic growth. They improve the quality of a location and become a competitive factor. In no other EU country today is the "digital divide" between well-served urban regions and increasingly underserved rural regions greater than in Germany. In fact, many companies and citizens are left behind by high-speed internet.
The BroadbandTAG 2008 on October 21, 2008 in Würzburg will present solutions for cities, municipalities and companies that do not yet have an economically viable alternative. In addition to the available technologies, the event will focus on operating and investment concepts for alternative network operators, local authorities, municipal utilities, real estate companies and supply and disposal companies. The focus will be on technical, not political aspects. The topics range from economic issues of broadband use, alternatives and funding opportunities to special solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises.
The event is organized by Vogel Business Media together with its highly regarded specialist medium eGovernment and the Akademie Ländlicher Raum Baden Württemberg. The congress has numerous high-caliber partners and supporters from the industry. Among the speakers are:
- Jürgen Grützner, Managing Director of the Association of Telecommunications and Value-Added Service Providers
- Helmut Burger, Head of the Information and Communication Industry Department of the Munich and Upper Bavaria Chamber of Industry and Commerce
- Numerous representatives of large German commercial enterprises such as WestLB, Reichle & DeMassari AG, BKtel, UnserOrtsnetz.de, Cisco Systems Deutschland
- Representatives from local authorities and ministries
There is also an associated trade fair exhibition.
The event is aimed at decision-makers and IT managers from small and medium-sized companies as well as representatives from local authorities, IT service providers, regional trade associations, municipal utilities and regional supply companies as well as housing and real estate companies.
