Progress in key industry

MM Award presented for the first time at AMB

Würzburg, September 10, 2008

On September 9, 2008, the leading industry magazine MM MaschinenMarkt presented the "MM Award for AMB" innovation prize for the first time at the AMB 2008 trade fair in Stuttgart. The jury honored outstanding products and innovations exhibited at the trade fair for metalworking and metal processing in Stuttgart. The award ceremony took place on the evening of the first day of the trade fair at the ICS International Congress Center Stuttgart on the grounds of the Stuttgart Exhibition Center. Ken Fouhy, Publisher and Editorial Director of MM MaschinenMarkt, praised the major technical advances in a key sector for competitive production in Germany.

AMB exhibitors were able to compete for the MM Award at AMB with their innovations in the eight categories of turning, milling, grinding, eroding, tools, clamping devices, control and measuring systems and peripherals.

The winners of the MM Award are the following companies:

Turning category: Hommel GmbH Cologne/Nakamura Tome Precision Industry Co, LTD.

Milling category: Helmut Diebold GmbH & Co. KG, Jungingen

Grinding category: TECNO.team GmbH Uhingen/Amada Wasino Co, LTD.

Eroding category: Agie Charmilles GmbH, Schorndorf

Tools category: LUKAS-ERZETT Vereinigte Schleif-und Fräswerkzeugfabriken GmbH & Co. KG, Engelskirchen

Clamping devices category: Bilz Werkzeugfabrik GmbH & Co. KG, Ostfilden

Control/measuring systems category: AMO GmbH, St Peter (Austria)

Peripherals category: Ceratizit Austria GmbH, Reutte (Austria)

A special prize was also awarded to Diamant-Gesellschaft TESCH GmbH, Ludwigsburg.
