Storage Networking World Europe 2008

Media partner SearchStorage.de with special issues

Augsburg, September 29, 2008

On October 27, 2008, the largest European user conference for storage and data management will open its doors for the eighth time in Frankfurt am Main. The knowledge portal SearchStorage.de will be on site with a stand and will once again be accompanying the event as a media partner.

At the end of October, the European storage and data management industry will meet at Storage Networking World Europe in Frankfurt. Under the motto "Information in Motion", this year's SNW, which takes place from 27 to 29 October in Frankfurt, aims to combine traditional topics with current trends: server and storage virtualization, data security, IP storage, green data centers and Fibre Channel (FC) over Ethernet. As a media partner, SearchStorage.de will not only provide editorial coverage of this event, but will also be right in the middle of the action with an on-site stand, conducting interviews and reporting on the latest news from the congress.

Part of last year's success can be attributed to conference organizer SNW, who are keen to continue working with SearchStorage.de: "Now in its eighth year, SNW Europe has established itself in the European IT calendar for storage solutions and IT professionals, working predominantly with other leading companies, such as SearchStorage.de, from the same sector to promote the conference in the local market. We are delighted to have extended our collaboration, which began in 2007, and hope to intensify this in the future, explains Paul Trowbridge, Marketing Director of SNW Europe.

Special deduplication on SearchStorage.de

The editorial team has compiled and clearly presented everything storage professionals need to know about this important topic at the event in its Deduplication special(http://www.searchstorage.de/specials/deduplizierung). "We will continue to explore the other topics of the event in greater depth after the event has ended, as some industry giants are setting the pace with their products in many data centers," says Rainer Graefen, Editor-in-Chief of SearchStorage.de, about the media cooperation.

Compendium - Complex content presented in an understandable way

The new compendium "Innovative Storage Solutions for SMEs" from SearchStorage.de, which also deals with the topic of "storage virtualization", will also be published in time for SNW. On 64 pages, technologies such as disaster recovery, deduplication, SSD/database, file services and high availability are presented.
Registered users of SearchStorage.de receive this compendium automatically. Registration is definitely worthwhile https://www.searchstorage.de/index.cfm?pid=4225&before .

An extensive congress program on complex topics

As in 2007, there will be over 100 conference sessions with 20 European end users, as well as 20 highly informative SNIA technical seminars and a variety of technical tutorials on the latest topics.
Highlights this year include speakers from client companies Lufthansa Services, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Barcelona City Hall, KPN, Deutsche BP and Devon & Cornwall Police (UK).
This year's conference keynote will be delivered by Chris Baker, Senior Vice President of Core Technology Business at Oracle, who will speak about 'Managing the data exlosion in an increasingly complex world'.
"Green plays a central role in the 2008 agenda with sessions from SNIA on 'Green Storage and Building the Green Data Center', from Robert Petrocelli, Founder & Technical Director of greenBytes, and from Larry Freeman of NetApp on 'Myths and Realities of Green Storage'.
Other important topics in the conference program are dedicated to data security, server & storage virtualization and data deduplication. In addition, SNIA will offer seminars throughout the event. Strategic briefings from market leaders such as Brocade, Dell, EMC, Fujitsu Siemens Computers, HP, IBM, NetApp, Oracle and Quantum will offer you an exclusive insight into the product development and future plans of these providers.
In addition to the conference, an extensive exhibition area will be open to participants, inviting them to talk to experts in detail.
