The young managers of the year 2008 in the automotive industry have been determined: Jochen Schandert (Autohaus Schandert, Lutherstadt Wittenberg, Skoda) is the winner of the highly esteemed industry award "kfz-betrieb" Junior Award. The established award was presented by the trade magazine "kfz-betrieb" together with Santander Consumer Bank at the weekend during the female entrepreneurs' congress of the automotive industry at the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Zeche Zollverein" in Essen. The award, which is highly regarded in the industry, is presented annually across all brands and throughout Germany.
The winners and runners-up of the "kfz-betrieb" Junior Award 2008 are:
1st place: Jochen Schandert, Autohaus Schandert, Lutherstadt Wittenberg (Skoda)
"Mr. Schandert is a confident, likeable and competent managing director. For five years, Jochen Schandert has worked very hard to get the business back into safe waters and in order with the aim of making it largely debt-free," said "kfz-betrieb" editor-in-chief Wolfgang Michel at the awards ceremony.
2nd place: Frank Levy, Autohaus Yvel, Düsseldorf (Toyota, Lexus)
3rd place: Markus Bach, Autohaus Bach, Überlingen (Toyota)
The prize has been awarded since 1997 for young women - and since 2003 for men - up to the age of 35. It is awarded to a convincing, impressive young manager in the German automotive industry. Criteria include job-specific training, a clear succession plan and, if applicable, a well-prepared company handover.
The trade magazine "kfz-betrieb" reports in detail on the winners and runners-up in issue 46, which will be published on November 13, 2008.
