Würzburg, October 20, 2008
The two service managers from Opel and VW, Todd Gaffner and Arno Kalmbach, will be speaking at the specialist conference for independent workshops and service companies in Würzburg. Next Saturday, October 25, 2008, the two manufacturer representatives will talk about the opportunities offered by the independent market and shed light on the current requirements for automotive businesses.
Gaffner, Head of Service at Opel in Germany, explains to the independent businesses and service partners how cooperation should work from the manufacturer's perspective. VW Service Manager Arno Kalmbach talks about the importance of the genuine parts business for the independent market.
The conference is a renowned platform of the automotive industry in Germany, where independent garages and service companies deal with current topics of the service market.
The organizers "kfz-betrieb" and the Zentralverband deutsches Kraftfahrzeuggewerbe (ZDK) have entitled the symposium "Making the right decisions for a secure future". In view of declining numbers of new registrations and thinned-out sales networks, the service and repair market is almost inevitably becoming the focus of many companies' business activities. The acquisition of additional or differentiating specialist skills is therefore a process that is already underway in companies or needs to be initiated.
Strategic customer acquisition and service marketing
Other top speakers at the symposium are Hermann Wilkes (Institut für strategische Neukundengewinnung) and Helmut Wolk (Wolk und Partner Car Consult). Wilkes will explain how garages can expand their customer base in a targeted manner. Helmut Wolk will explain how companies can improve customer loyalty so that new customers become regular customers.
The presentation by Neofitos Arathymos (ZDK) is also important for everyday workshop life. He will explain how the Euro 5/Euro 6 legislation for passenger cars and Euro VI commercial vehicles will affect practice.
Win a smart repair case
The symposium for independent garages and service companies will provide information on how to make the right decisions. The focus will be on practical aspects. Among other things, a "Smart Repair" theme tent will help to demonstrate repair techniques in practice. As an additional special feature, the manufacturer will be raffling off ten Smart Repair cases among all conference participants to help businesses get started. The conference will be complemented by a trade exhibition of important industry partners. The organizers are the trade magazine "kfz-betrieb" and the German Association of the Motor Trade (ZDK). The conference is supported by industry partners GTÜ, RepExpert and Würth.
