Starnberg/Augsburg, April 08, 2009
Vogel IT-Medien GmbH has been using Wide Area Infoboard (WAI) technology since March 2009 to automatically publish print ads and editorial highlights online. This gives advertising customers the added benefit of greater reach without having to provide a new advertising medium. Integrated into the website www.egovernment-computing.de, it displays the print advertisements from eGovernment Computing alongside editorial content from the trade journal. The globally patented WAI technology was developed by DCI AG from Starnberg.
"We want to use the WAI to push our editorial content in a targeted manner and attract new subscribers," explains Werner Nieberle, Managing Director of Vogel IT-Medien. "This way, we give our customers online reach on our portal at the same time as booking a print ad." Filling the WAI Infoboard requires no effort on the part of the publisher: the advertisements and editorial content are automatically digitized by DCI AG, integrated into the ticker and the preview window and displayed on the website.
With the exception of the front page, the editorial content initially appears illegible to the unregistered user - but the advertisements are fully legible. Once registered, readers have unrestricted access to all digital content of the trade journal. "This allows us to protect our content, deliver it in a controlled manner and acquire addresses for our magazine," says Werner Nieberle, summing up the use of WAI technology.
WAI technology is an innovative and globally patented online marketing tool. It can distribute digital or printed content such as advertisements, promotions or newsletters on the Internet within seconds and deliver them in a wide variety of output formats such as tickers or as gadgets for mobile applications, the iPhone or for iGoogle.
