Nordkirchen, May 18, 2009
Contract dentists, like doctors, are obliged to provide evidence of continuous further training. Within a period of five years, 125 continuing education points must be demonstrated. The first deadline for submitting continuing education points is June 30, 2009 for all dentists who have been in private practice for at least five years by this date.
Dentists can now acquire the important continuing education points from the IWW Institute in Nordkirchen at www.fortbildungspunkte.iww.de. The highlight: this can now also be done online, which saves travel costs and travel time and also enables a high degree of scheduling flexibility. Each month, a new training module is offered for the acquisition of two points. There are now over 30 modules on offer.
Each of these modules consists of selected articles from the current "Zahnmedizin Report" in PDF format. The "Zahnmedizin Report" reports monthly on current dental findings and the results of scientific studies. After studying these articles, a questionnaire with up to ten questions and up to four possible answers per question can be answered. If at least 70 percent of the questions are answered correctly, participants can then print out a certificate confirming that they have earned two continuing education points.
The technical management is in the hands of dentist Dr. med. dent. Günter Kau. The points are awarded in accordance with the "Guidelines for Continuing Dental Education" developed by the German Dental Association (BZÄK) and the "Evaluation of Continuing Education Points" of the BZÄK (German Dental Association) and DGZMK (German Society for Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine).
Subscribers to the "Zahnmedizin Report" can receive the continuing education points free of charge. The price for subscribers to other IWW Institute information services is 12 euros per module, for non-subscribers it is 18 euros per module.
