Wiesbaden, May 19, 2009: The "Karl Theodor Vogel Prize of the German Trade Press - Trade Journalist of the Year", endowed with 15,000 euros, was awarded today for the fifth time.
Tanja Podolski received the first prize of 7,500 euros for her article "Die Prügelknaben", published in "Juve Rechtsmarkt". The second prize (5,000 euros) went to Manfred Ruopp for the article "Juristisch-korrekt - menschlich traurig" in "tm tankstellen markt". Hildegard Moritz was awarded third prize (2,500 euros) for her article "Agrarforschung im Abseits" in "top agrar".
The three winning articles were selected from over 70 entries by a nine-member jury chaired by Professor Will Teichert from the Institute for Culture and Media Management at the University of Music and Drama in Hamburg.
With the "Karl Theodor Vogel Prize of the German Trade Press", the German Trade Press, in cooperation with the Karl Theodor Vogel Foundation (Würzburg), honors outstanding trade journalistic works that present current and/or innovative specialist topics in an exemplary manner in terms of language, style and the use of visual media. The established industry award is presented annually on the Evening of Communication during the Congress of the German Trade Press in Wiesbaden.
About the Karl Theodor Vogel Foundation
The foundation was established in 1984 by Karl Theodor Vogel (1914 to 2007), senior publisher and shareholder of the Würzburg-based specialist media company Vogel Business Media. Its aim is to promote the quality of specialist journalism.
