On May 19, the Trade Press Association of the Association of German Magazine Publishers (VDZ) and the Working Group of Magazine Publishers (AGZV) of the German Publishers and Booksellers Association elected their new board members. Both boards comprise five members each, who together form the board of the German Trade Press. Stefan Rühling, Chairman of GF Vogel Business Media, is a member of the VDZ on behalf of the Trade Press Association.
The following were elected to the Board of the VDZ Trade Press Association: Karl-Heinz Bonny (Landwirtschaftsverlag), Dr. Klaus Krammer (Krammer Verlag), Dr. Christoph Müller (Verlagsgesellschaft Rudolf Müller), Stefan Rühling (Vogel Business Media) and Dr. Lothar Vincentz (Vincentz Network). The new board members of the AGZV are Wolfgang Beisler (Carl Hanser Verlag), Wolfgang Burkart (Verlag W. Sachon), Claudia Michalski (Beuth Verlag), Hans Oppermann (Alfons W. Gentner Verlag) and Dr. Eva E. Wille (Verlag Wiley-VCH).
At its constituent meeting on May 20, the new Board of Directors appointed Karl-Heinz Bonny (who has been Chairman of the Trade Press Association since last fall) as spokesperson for the German Trade Press for the next three years. His deputy will be Dr. Eva E. Wille, who will remain Chairwoman of the AGZV. Mr. Bonny's deputy in the office of FVFP Chairman will be Stefan Rühling, while Dr. Wille's deputy in the AGZV will be Claudia Michalski. Equal representation on the board of the German Trade Press is a key aspect of the reorganization agreed in the spring.
