The new Fee Structure for Architects and Engineers (HOAI) was published in the Federal Law Gazette (BGBl , Part 1, Number 53, Page 2732) on August 17 and thus comes into force on August 18. From now on, planners in the construction industry will have to familiarize themselves with a completely restructured fee structure. Wirtschaftsdienst Ingenieure & Architekten" is providing support with the changeover: a 90-minute video recording of the online seminar "Introduction to HOAI 2009" is available to download free of charge at www.hoai2009.de.
On July 24, 2009, speaker Klaus D. Siemon familiarized almost 600 participants with the most important rules of HOAI 2009 in an online seminar. The feedback was positive: "This form of further training can be easily integrated into the daily work routine, saves annoying travel times and is also fun - praise for this successful online seminar," said one participant. The figures also speak for themselves: 98 percent of all participants would recommend the event to others.
The HOAI 2009 leaves considerably more room for contractual regulations on fees because a number of mandatory regulations of the old HOAI have been removed. This creates an additional need for individual contractual regulations. Only those who know which contractual adjustments can be made can take advantage of the opportunities offered by HOAI 2009 and lay the foundations for successful project management. The IWW Institute has taken this as an opportunity to launch a complete series of online seminars on HOAI 2009. On September 25, the central topic will be "Optimal contract design in HOAI 2009".
