On April 12, 2010, Vogel Business Media's trainees and management handed over the advertising revenue from last year's specially produced city magazine to the two donation recipients: 8,000 euros each went to "KIWI e.V. - Interessensgemeinschaft zur Förderung der Kinder der Würzburger Intensivstation" and to the "Frühdiagnosezentrum Würzburg" at the University Hospital.
"Der Würzburger", which has already become an "all-rounder" among the city magazines, is produced by Vogel Business Media trainees on their own initiative. Since the first issue, the topics have been related to the city and are intended to inform and entertain. Since the first issue of the magazine 25 years ago, the publishing house has made it its goal to donate all advertising revenue to a good cause.
"Social commitment has a long tradition at Vogel Business Media, which we have been continuing with the Würzburger for 25 years now, including through our youngest colleagues," emphasized Günter Schürger, Managing Director of Vogel Business Media: "Our trainees independently select the projects to be supported and also collect the donations themselves, so they learn the value of social responsibility and civic engagement at an early age."
The delegation of medical specialists and dedicated volunteers from the donation recipients were delighted with the support. Ms. Inge Dufey, Head Secretary of the Early Diagnosis Center, expressed her thanks: "This donation helps us enormously, as we don't receive any other external support, so thank you very much for that." Together with Dr. Gerhard Schams, a paediatrician at the Early Diagnosis Centre, she explained the project. The donation from Vogel Business Media will be used to purchase new software at the Early Diagnosis Center to improve the evaluation of gait analysis and to finance an expansion of the neurobiofeedback method for hyperactive children and adolescents.
Ina Schmolke, 1st Chairwoman of the KIWI parents' association, gave a short presentation about the project: "Thank you very much for this unusual donation, which will help us to finance the part-time position for a counselor. This is very important for many parents of young children in intensive care." With the treasurer Susanne Mott and Dr. Johannes Wirbelauer, the senior consultant of the children's intensive care unit.
The 25th anniversary edition of the WÜRZBURGER 2010 will be published on May 6 and will then be distributed in the city.
