The changes to the law resulting from the BDSG amendments 2009/2010 increase the complexity of data protection implementation and thus block important resources in companies. At the same time, the penalties for non-compliance are increasing. The question of the actual value contribution of data protection for the company often remains unanswered. "People see data protection as a fundamental right, while companies see it as an annoying obligation," comments IT specialist and lawyer Wilfried Reiners: "The latter doesn't have to be the case if practicable and efficient ways are found."
The key lies in good cooperation between IT managers and data protection officers. IT managers play a key role when it comes to implementing data protection. Data protection officers must therefore know and understand IT-relevant processes and options in order to be able to draw up a practicable concept.
Together with Wilfried Reiners, the SearchSecurity Academy has set up the tandem course "Data protection & information technology - implementing the data protection amendment in practice" for the first time. Together with their data protection officer, IT managers learn how to effectively and practically organize data protection in their company. The one-day intensive seminar will take place on 09.11. in Hamburg, on 10.11. in Düsseldorf, on 11.11. in Munich and on 16.11. in Frankfurt am Main.
