IPv6 - increasing pressure to act!

Putting off IPv6 migration risks chaos and security vulnerabilities

The last IPv4 addresses have already been distributed to the regional registries, as reported by SearchNetworking.de. This means that 340 sextillion IPv6 addresses are now available for use. It is therefore high time for IT managers to tackle the conversion of company networks to the new IPv6 Internet protocol. In order to avoid incalculable risks due to incorrect IPv6 administration and to continue to protect company networks, professional education and information on the subject is necessary.

Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) is an improved version of the current Internet Protocol IPv4. The key features of IPv6 are its significantly larger address range, its special suitability for mobile use and its improved security features.

"When migrating to IPv6, IT managers are faced with two difficult steps in their own environment: On the one hand, they still lack practical knowledge of how IPv6 actually works and how to operate it. On the other hand, there are some fundamental strategic and conceptual decisions to be made at the beginning of an introduction," explains Benedikt Stockebrand, IPv6 expert and consultant.

The SearchNetworking Academy is therefore offering the intensive seminar "Secure IPv6 introduction in practice - planning, implementation and operation" in collaboration with Stockebrand. In this two-day training course, the speaker will impart fundamental basic knowledge as well as practical solutions for the smooth IPv6 deployment of IT environments in companies. The seminar will take place on April 4-5 in Frankfurt, April 7-8 in Düsseldorf and April 14-15 in Munich.
