Data centers form the heart of a company's communication technology. Functionality, availability, cost-effective operation and the ability to migrate are prerequisites for a company's success today.
If a company data center is to be given a new network infrastructure, it often makes sense to expand or renew the cabling. However, in order to create a solid basis for this, it is important to pay close attention to a number of important standards. EN 50173 has become established for application-neutral cabling systems, better known as "structured cabling".
Over the past 15 years, application-neutral communication cable systems based on this European standard have established themselves as the infrastructure for communication technology, primarily in office buildings. Depending on the quality selected, the infrastructures based on this standard support a wide range of different applications, from analog telephones to high bit rate data services such as Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet or 10 Gigabit Ethernet.
Cabling specialist and expert Manfred Patzke provides insights into the current quality standards for 10, 40 and 100 GB and explains the requirements of the EN 50173-5 and EN 50600 standards in the SearchNetworking Academy's intensive seminar "Network cabling for modern infrastructures". The seminar will take place on June 8 in Munich and June 9 in Frankfurt.
