Co-organizer and wind energy expert Klaus Lorenz also emphasized: "The German government has decided to phase out nuclear power. But Germany can become the pioneer of a new industrialization under ecological auspices. Now it is time to do the homework for the EEG and thus create the conditions for continuous growth in the industry."
In his welcoming message, Bavarian Environment Minister Dr. Markus Söder announced the construction of 1,000 wind turbines in Bavaria over the next few years and thus a six-fold increase in wind energy production: "The events in Fukushima require a fundamental reassessment of the use of nuclear energy in Germany and Bavaria," emphasized Söder: "This has also changed everything for us. The year 2011 stands for a directional decision in energy policy. The nuclear age is coming to an end and the energy transition offers huge opportunities for our economy and our industry. Innovative energy technology has great economic potential. As the technology of the future, renewable energies will be the driver of innovation and the job engine of this century."
The second Innovation Day Wind Energy3 was also organized by windkraftkonstruk-tion.de, the specialist information portal from Vogel Business Media, and Lorenz Kommunikation. Cooperation partners were the two VDMA trade associations Drive Technology and Power Systems as well as the Research Association for Drive Technology (FVA). The event was attended by experts from industry, science and municipal organizations, including representatives from Siemens, SKF, Schaeffler, Bayerische Landesbank, Nordex, Winergy, Fuhrländer and universities. 20 speakers spoke on technology and management topics, while 30 exhibitors from all over Germany provided information at the accompanying trade exhibition.
