ESE 2011: Starting signal for the 4th software congress for the embedded industry

Embedded Software Congress five days for the first time; early bird prices until October 31

Five days of events for the first time, 120 expert presentations and seminars, three top keynotes and an extensive supporting program - this is how Germany's largest embedded software engineering congress (Sindelfingen, 5 to 9 December) can be summarized in 2011. The congress program is more extensive than ever: the number of compact seminars has increased from 10 to 19, and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will each start with a keynote speech. More than 40 well-known companies from the software industry will be exhibiting at the accompanying trade exhibition. Gold sponsors in 2011 are once again Axivion, Green Hills Software and IBM.

The lectures, seminars and discussions cover current topics from all project phases of software development, from requirements analysis and architecture design to the final test, supplemented by lecture series on career topics, project management and corporate management. Lectures on the trend topic of cyber physical systems were added as a new complex in 2011. The social events on the first four evenings are ideal for personal networking.

Cyber-physical systems - challenge and opportunity

With cyber-physical systems, embedded systems are facing a generational change. Prof. Dr. Brigitte Vogel-Heuser from the Technical University of Munich will provide an outlook into this future in her keynote speech on Tuesday, December 6. Cyber-physical systems address the convergence of software-intensive embedded systems with global digital networks. They enable new industrial applications with high economic potential, such as integrated systems for traffic control or intelligent power grids. The high innovation potential of cyber-physical systems poses major economic, technical and scientific challenges for German companies. The growing scope of embedded software and its increasing networking make a paradigm shift in the development process imperative.

The registration phase for the ESE Congress 2011 has already begun. Participants can register at special rates until October 31, after which the regular prices will apply. Participation in the ESE Congress is possible from as little as 425 euros. The congress program, all information on participation and registration details are available on the Internet at http://www.ese-kongress.de.
