The ESE Congress 2011 was a popular meeting place for the industry. A good 800 participants from over 300 companies came to the Embedded Software Engineering Congress in Sindelfingen in December. With this very high number of participants once again, the event confirmed its position as the most popular and largest industry gathering of its kind in its fourth year.
Due to the high demand in the previous year, the organizers Elektronikpraxis and MicroConsult extended the event concept to five days for the first time in 2011. Visitors responded very well to the new concept: around a third of participants stayed for three or more congress days.
The longer congress duration not only gave exhibitors, participants and speakers more time and space for contacts, discussions and breaks: the range of services in particular was significantly expanded. Among other things, the range of events on offer grew by nine additional compact seminars, from one to three keynotes and an additional supporting program.
Participants once again gave the ESE Congress 2011 very good to good average marks. The speakers of the lecture program received an average grade of 2.29, the compact seminars even better with an average of 1.99. 97 percent of participants are certain or are considering attending again in 2012. The ESE Congress remains a supra-regional event: two thirds of participants came from other German states, Austria and Switzerland.
Peter Siwon, co-founder of the ESE Congress and project manager: "Based on the number of registrations and feedback from participants and event partners, the event is objectively a complete success once again. By switching to five days, the conditions are in place for further growth without jeopardizing the fundamental characteristics of the congress, such as the much-praised communicative and informal atmosphere."
