The 36 new trainees at the WÜRZBERGER medienakademie started their careers this week. WÜma offers twelve different professions, from IT specialist to media designer.
The young people are trained at one of the four major Würzburg media companies, the Krick family of companies, the Main-Post media group, Stürtz GmbH or Vogel Business Media, while at the same time learning at WÜma.
In addition to the companies and the vocational school, WÜma acts as a third place of learning where additional qualifications are taught. Thanks to the cooperation between the companies, the trainees gain a deep insight into the diversity of media professions and make contacts beyond WÜma. Today, the academy offers apprenticeships in office communication, printing media technology, event management, as well as apprenticeships in seven other media professions. It also offers two dual courses of study in cooperation with the DHBW Mosbach and a trainee program for university graduates, which welcomed four new trainees this year.
The WÜRZBURGER medienakademie was founded in 2007 by the four partner companies with the aim of creating a joint service company for the training and further education of their employees and strengthening Würzburg as a media location. With this year's new additions, WÜma now has a total of 94 trainees, but further growth is planned. On October 1, 2012, two students will start their studies in Business Administration - Service Management at the DHBW Mosbach and from October 2013, the dual study program in Business Informatics will also be offered.
The WÜRZBURGER medienakademie is the joint service company for the training and further education of the four media companies. The Krick family of companies, the Main-Post media group, Stürtz GmbH and Vogel Business Media GmbH & Co. KG have founded the WÜRZBURGER medienakademie. This is where all the companies' training and further education activities are planned, organized, coordinated, (further) developed and managed. In this way, the WÜRZBURGER medienakademie aims to strengthen Würzburg as a media location beyond the region and create attractive professional development opportunities. An extensive trainee program and training in eleven professions in the media industry also ensure that the extensive demand for young talent, specialists and managers is met.
