Premiere: On November 14, the specialist medium "DeviceMed" presented the "DeviceMed Award for Compamed" for the first time at the industry trade fair in Düsseldorf. The DeviceMed editorial team honored trade fair exhibitors for outstanding products and services in five categories. The criteria for the award are the degree of technical innovation, aspects of cost-effectiveness as well as the design and usability of the technology presented.
"More than ever, medical technology manufacturers need the support of creative equipment suppliers, service providers and suppliers in order to assert themselves in the field of tension between cost pressure, the need for innovation and benefit assessment. The DeviceMed Award puts the best exhibitors at Compamed in the spotlight," explains Peter Reinhardt, Editor-in-Chief of DeviceMed. The winners include Teleflex Medical OEM (service provider category) with a "Novel Process for Joining Dissimilar Catheter Segments" - a new process for joining different types of catheter segments. In the Equipment Supplier category, Multivac Sepp Haggenmüller GmbH & Co. KG came out on top with a thermoforming machine in the Multivac "Clean Design". The 3DMID-based thermal flow sensor from 2E Mechatronic won in the Micro and Nanotechnology category, as did RRC Power Solutions GmbH from Homburg an der Saar in the OEM Components category with its concept for wireless energy and data transmission, a 5-watt wireless power module. The jury also awarded a special prize to the sterile double packaging "So-Tube" from French company Selenium Medical for surgical implants.
The award ceremony took place on the evening of the first day of the fair in Hall 8b: Ken Fouhy, Publisher Industrial Media Division of Vogel Business Media, and DeviceMed Editor-in-Chief Peter Reinhardt presented the awards in the presence of representatives from Messe Düsseldorf.
