At the end of 2012, the trainees of the "Würzburger Medienakademie", which focuses on Vogel Business Media, together with the management, handed over the advertising revenue from their specially produced city magazine "Der Würzburger" to the two donation recipients: EUR 5,000 each was presented to the "Elterninitiative leukämie- und tumorkranker Kinder Würzburg e.V." and the "Kinderklinik am Mönchberg e.V.".
Monika Demmich reported on the activities of the "Elterninitiative leukämie- und tumorkranker Kinder Würzburg" association and the voluntary work, e.g. in the Regenbogen ward at Würzburg University Hospital. Chief physician Prof. Dr. Christina Kohlhauser-Vollmuth reported on the association's work at the "Kinderklinik am Mönchberg" and explained that she would like to use the donation to continue the music therapy and purchase new therapeutic instruments.
Under the motto "We cannot change the diagnosis, but we can positively influence the entire environment", the "Elterninitiative leukämie- und tumorkranker Kinder Würzburg" tries to be a support for the sick children and their parents and to accompany them during this difficult time. Prof. Dr. Christina Kohlhauser-Vollmuth emphasizes: "For our patients, music therapy is a non-verbal means of communication that acts as a balm for body and mind in the complex illnesses of our patients. On behalf of the entire nursing and medical team, I would like to thank you once again for your generous donation and wish you all the best and every success for your further training and future career."
"Social commitment has a high priority at Vogel Business Media. For 27 years, our youngest colleagues have also been putting this into practice every year with the Würzburger by independently selecting the sponsored projects and collecting the donations," emphasized Günter Schürger, Managing Director of Vogel Business Media: "In this way, they learn the value of social responsibility and civic engagement at an early age."
The Würzburger was published for the 27th time this year. The scene magazine is produced independently by the trainees of the Würzburg Medianakademie from the core company Vogel Business Media and is now well known in Würzburg and the surrounding area. Since the first issue, the topics have been related to the city and are intended to inform and entertain readers in equal measure.
The WÜRZBURGER medienakademie is the joint service company for training and further education of the four media companies. The Krick family of companies, the Main-Post media group, Stürtz GmbH and Vogel Business Media GmbH & Co. KG have founded the WÜRZBURGER medienakademie. This is where all the companies' training and further education activities are planned, organized, coordinated, (further) developed and managed. In this way, the WÜRZBURGER medienakademie aims to strengthen Würzburg as a media location beyond the region and create attractive professional development opportunities. An extensive trainee program and training in eleven professions in the media industry also ensure that the extensive demand for young talent, specialists and managers is met.
Vogel Business Media is one of the leading German specialist information providers with over 100 trade journals, over 100 web portals, over 100 business events as well as numerous mobile offerings and international activities.
