February 4 is the closing date for the app competition of the specialist medium eGovernment Computing. Until then, authorities, local authorities and developers can submit their administration app to the competition. Under the patronage of the Federal Government Commissioner for Information Technology, State Secretary Cornelia Rogall-Grothe, and in cooperation with Working Group 3 of the National IT Summit, eGovernment Computing will be awarding prizes to the best administration app in Germany. The competition was launched by Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel together with State Secretary Rogall-Grothe at the National IT Summit.
More and more administrations are developing apps for modern mobile government - for the benefit of citizens, companies and local authorities. The competition aims to collect the best ideas and present them on the new information platform for public apps (GovApps.de). The jury will announce the winners at CeBIT 2013 at the stand of the Federal Government's IT Commissioner.
The initiators of the competition are calling on all administrations, companies and freelance developers to present their best apps to the jury by February 4. Prizes will be awarded to the best app in each of the three categories of local, state and federal administration as well as in the developer category. In the latter category, developers can submit not only finished apps for the competition, but also feasible concepts for future applications. The best idea will be awarded a special prize by Working Group 3 of the National IT Summit.
