For more than a year now, a term has been haunting the assembly halls of the republic: Industry 4.0. Association representatives are talking about the fourth industrial revolution, but many companies and SMEs in particular are overwhelmed by the term and are asking themselves: Isn't this old wine in new bottles? Logistics experts feel the same way.
The production departments of OEMs are pushing the issue, while logistics is still hesitant. But Industry 4.0 cannot succeed without the two areas working together. For this reason, the trade media "MM Logistik" and "MM MaschinenMarkt" are organizing the "Congress for Digital Logistics Processes" on 13/14 November.
During a tour of Schäflein AG in Röthlein on the first day of the congress, participants from the fields of logistics, production and manufacturing will gain insights into the implementation of digital logistics processes and will be able to share their experiences at a get-together afterwards.
In presentations on the second day of the congress, experts will provide insights and possible applications, give tips for dealing with Industry 4.0 and highlight developments. Speakers from industry and research, such as Andreas Müller (Robert Bosch GmbH) and Prof. Dr. Michael Beigl (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology), will report on their experiences. In the concluding panel discussion, the experts will address the question "Do logistics companies need Industry 4.0?". An accompanying trade exhibition will round off the event and provide information on current trends and developments.
The congress for digital logistics processes will take place on
November 13/14, 2013 at the Vogel Convention Center in Würzburg
