Today, IT permeates all areas of a company. In the automotive industry, too, information technology has become an essential element of all business processes. As OEMs and suppliers cannot tackle this topic alone, IT service providers are sought-after partners. The market overview published for the first time by the trade journal "Automobil Industrie" on February 28, 2014 shows what IT service providers active in the automotive industry can do.
"90 percent of innovations in cars today come from electrics, electronics and IT," says Hartmut Lüerssen, Partner at Lünendonk, commenting on current developments in the automotive industry: "Even in small cars, text messages are read aloud, and communication modules are standard in upper mid-range vehicles". IT technologies are thus being integrated directly into the vehicle, making them strategically important for OEMs.
The market overview booklet "IT service providers 2014" lists companies that support their automotive partners in at least one of the following service areas: Business IT, development, production and logistics, car IT, cloud computing and consulting.
