Machine safety has many facets: machines should be protected against manipulation or comply with current safety standards after a retrofit, robots should work safely with people. On the one hand, this diversity makes it difficult to keep an eye on relevant developments and trends in machine safety. On the other hand, inadequate research and application of standards hinders the further conformity assessment process. Violations can result in operating and sales bans as well as criminal prosecution and claims for damages. The "User Meeting + Expo Machine Safety", which will take place on September 30, 2014 at the Vogel Convention Center in Würzburg, is dedicated to these topics.
The "Anwendertreff + Expo Maschinensicherheit" informs design managers, designers from mechanical and control engineering, developers, maintenance staff, standards officers, plant/production managers and occupational health and safety experts about key machine safety topics. Under the motto "From practice for practice", four forums will focus on safety as a standard, the structure of safety systems, safety and security and the new focus on robots and machine safety.
The event is organized by the two trade media "Konstruktionspraxis" and the "Elektrotechnik Akademie". Following last year's successful premiere, around 20 exhibitors will be presenting their new products and integrable solutions at the accompanying Machine Safety Expo. Now in its second year, this event has developed into the most comprehensive specialist conference and networking platform for machine safety.
