For the fourth time, the specialist medium "Elektronikpraxis" from Vogel Business Media is reporting on the use of electronics as an industry and as a technology for humanitarian purposes as part of the "Electronics helps" campaign. An extensive special section was published in issue 18 (publication date September 22, 2014). The magazine's advertising customers were invited to take part with a donation ad. The entire proceeds from the advertisement, amounting to 16,000 euros, were donated to "Aktion Deutschland Hilft".
"Aktion Deutschland Hilft" is an association of German aid organizations that work together to provide fast and effective help in the event of major disasters and emergency situations abroad. Over the past three years, more than 100,000 euros in donations have been collected as part of the "Elektronik hilft" campaign. Unlike in previous years, this year the specialist medium "Elektronikpraxis" expanded the focus beyond the previous donation country of Africa by reporting on aid projects in the industry and humanitarian electronics missions worldwide and donating without a limited purpose.
"Aid organizations generally prefer it when donations are not given to individual crisis regions. We are now following this approach with 'Elektronik hilft' and donating without regional dedication in order to support aid where it is most urgently needed," comments Johann Wiesböck, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Elektronikpraxis: "In editorial terms, reporting on projects all over the world naturally gives us much more choice. This secures the Elektronikpraxis 'Elektronik hilft' campaign for years to come."
