Machine safety - customer forces manufacturer into a corset

Helmut Bach speaks at machine safety user meeting

Because the customer's expectations are not always met to their satisfaction, acceptance tests are required to check the contractually agreed service. In addition to agreements under private law, compliance with legal requirements must be ensured to guarantee the safety and health of employees. Helmut Bach, Head of Technical Machine Safety at ZF Friedrichshafen AG, will speak about "Machine acceptance from the operator's perspective" in his keynote speech at the "Anwendertreff + Expo Maschinensicherheit". He will put forward the thesis that the customer tries to force the manufacturer into a corset via delivery specifications, which have been developed over many years from the experience gained, in order to obtain the expected economical, functioning and safe machine. The event will take place on September 30, 2014 at the Vogel Convention Center in Würzburg.

The "Anwendertreff + Expo Maschinensicherheit" informs design managers, designers from mechanical and control engineering, developers, maintenance staff, standards officers, plant/production managers and occupational health and safety experts about key machine safety topics. Under the motto "From practice for practice", four forums will focus on safety as a standard, the structure of safety systems, safety and security and the new focus on robots and machine safety.

The event is organized by the two trade media "Konstruktionspraxis" and "Elektrotechnik Automatisierung". Following last year's successful premiere, this time around 29 exhibitors will be presenting their new products and integrable solutions at the accompanying Machine Safety Expo. Now in its second year, this event has developed into the most comprehensive specialist conference and networking platform for machine safety.
