The fifth season of the successful future platform Social Media Business Lounge begins on October 8. Starting at 18:30 in the "Heisenberg 1" room of the Vogel Convention Center, the focus will be on exciting new trends in Web 2.0. "The world is full of numbers - and data journalism tries to use them to tell exciting stories." Freelance journalist Ralf Thees shows how this can work and where the limits lie. Brigitte Greiner and Margarete Klement will provide an insight into their award-winning project "Facebook & Co: Augen auf im Internet" to stimulate discussion on the topic of media literacy.
Together with the specialist media company Vogel Business Media, Würzburg AG has been organizing the Social Media Business Lounge every winter half-year since 2011. This is a regional network of people who are professionally involved with social media & co. and want to exchange ideas with others. From students to marketing managers, the Social Media Business Lounge is the ideal platform for new ideas and networking.
"The interest in social media and the need to exchange ideas on this topic is huge. The Social Media Business Lounge is the ideal platform for this and the growing number of participants shows that we are on the right track," says Dr. Gunther Schunk, member of the Vogel Business Media management board and founder of the Social Media Business Lounge, who is delighted with the success of the idea.
"For five years now, the Social Media Business Lounge has succeeded in highlighting the future viability of the city of Würzburg as a modern media location. This idea shows how new, innovative trends are growing in our region, increasing the attractiveness of our region," said Claus Schreiner, CEO of Würzburg AG, on the occasion of the fifth anniversary.
The event lasts around 1.5 hours. Admission is free. Further information on the Social Media Business Lounge can be found at https://de-de.facebook.com/pages/Social-Media-Business-Lounge-W%C3%BCrzburg/265148983516479
