From 5 November to 5 December 2014, the 2-day practical workshop BSI & ISO Campus on the topic of "Security and emergency management based on the officially recognized BSI and ISO standards" took place at four locations. The two-day workshop provided interested IT decision-makers from user companies/authorities and specialist dealers with knowledge about the similarities and differences between the BSI and ISO standards. Practical examples were given of how both standards can be used optimally according to the needs of an organization.
On the first day of the event, consultant Dr. Markus a Campo spoke on the topic of "BSI baseline protection and ISO - the optimal path to your own information security". On the second day, Manuela Reiß, owner of Dokuit, provided participants with important details on "Emergency management based on the requirements of BSI Standard 100-4 and ISO Standard 22301".
"It was a successful event. Not only were both trainers excellent experts who succinctly elaborated on the key aspects of the topic, but the participants, all IT professionals, also contributed their in-depth knowledge to the discussion rounds," commented Michael Hase, Managing Editor of IT Business: "The prior knowledge of the two campus topics, information security and emergency management, varied: The spectrum ranged from security officers who work as auditors themselves to IT managers who are preparing their company for certification for the first time. This resulted in an exciting exchange about the threats to IT and how companies can protect themselves sensibly against them."
