Many large car dealers in Germany are currently reaching for the shovel in person - for the symbolic ground-breaking ceremony. Among others, the Weller Group is building a new Audi center in Bielefeld for around ten million euros. The Fellbach-based Hahn Group is even one step ahead: its new Audi terminal in Göppingen has already been opened. Like Hahn, Motor-Nützel from Bayreuth is also investing in the Volkswagen Group's brand worlds. The company is investing around 20 million euros in its flagship project called "Automobil-Zentrum-Hof".
"There is currently no end in sight to the construction boom in the car trade. Even if they are not always completely new buildings, modernization is taking place everywhere, which is also due to the car manufacturers. From Audi to Volvo - almost all makes are investing in their brand presence in dealerships," says "kfz-betrieb" editor-in-chief Wolfgang Michel.
However, Germany's major car dealers are not only building, they are also making major acquisitions in line with the motto "big, bigger and bigger": the Augsburg-based car dealership group AVAG has been the new owner of the Stuttgart-based Staiger Group since August 2014. The Senger Group from Rheine took over eight locations of the Dr. Vogler Group from Bad Homburg in October. And at the end of November, Emil Frey announced the takeover of the north German Kath Group.
For the eighth time, the trade journal "kfz-betrieb" presents the success strategies of Germany's major car dealers. The special edition is an industry navigator for sales and service in the German automobile trade and a who's who of the major players for new and used cars and commercial vehicles. The editorial team shows what makes the good car dealers successful, which companies are among the top 100 and which dealers are most successful with which brands.
