German OEMs will grow in 2015

Volkswagen in first place with production figures

The automotive industry will continue to face challenges in 2015. Nevertheless, the outlook is not as gloomy as some analysts expected during the course of the year. This is reflected in the latest figures and statements from manufacturers and suppliers. German OEMs in particular will be able to increase their production figures once again.

According to IHS, Volkswagen will climb to the top with an estimated 10.2 million units produced and overtake Toyota as early as 2015. Long-running models such as the Passat, which has already been updated this year, and new model generations such as the announced A4 from premium subsidiary Audi are likely to contribute to this. Mercedes-Benz and BMW will also make another noticeable leap forward.
